Has recently celebrated ten years as a university. Its ancestry dates back to 1887 when the Wrexham School of Science and Art was established in response to demand for a highly skilled workforce for the industrial backbone of NE Wales. That character remains and the University now undertakes research and teaching across engineering, science, technology the arts and healthcare.
